My First Show!! And Off ON a Canoe Trip!

I just got back from Sheila's Partylite show, my first show, and it was awesome! The house was full of people, she got lots of outside sales and I think I did OK doing the show! I really had a great time and I got TWO bookings! That is so awesome. I am feeling really optimistic about it now! I am trying to enter the show and watch Grey's Anatomy at the same time.... hard.

Tomorrow morning I got on a 4 day 3 night canoe trip. I am SO scared. I don't wanna go. I want to spent all weekend inside. Please pray for me and for everyone that is going. Pray for safety, that we will have a good time, that we will learn more about God and appreciate his creation.

NEW CLOTHES!!

Shopping on Sunday was so much fun! Just my Mom and I went. It was fun. I bought ALOT of clothes. I probably bought more shirts than I ownded before hand! I got three pairs of pants. I really cleaned up at Ricki's. I love that store cause lots of stuff fits me in there. Then I went to Old Navy and bought my brother some cute clothes for school, and of course something for myself. Then I was browsing in Zellers waiting for my Mom and I saw some clothes I liked, so I tried them on and they fit! They were all 30% off so I had to buy them. I think I got one shirt for $10, 2 for $15 each, and jeans for $15! It was awesome! I never shop at Wal Mart or Zellers cause none of the nice stuff fits me, but this time they did! YAY! It was definatley therapy for me. I bought my mom supper at Boston Pizza to end the day. I have never done that much damage to my bank account on clothes in one day. It was awesome and I want to do it again! But not anytime soon. I still need shoes though, so if anyone knows where you can get nice woman's shoes that are in size 11, let me know!

And FINALLY! I am all set up with Partylite! I entered my first show and it was fun! I really like doing that.. Again.. if anyone wants lots of nice stuff for free, just have a party!!

A Review Site

In light of recent events, I have decided to change my dogs' blog to a reveiw site for pet products! I was looking for a product to help Paris with her thunderstorm phobia, and my vet told me about the Storm Defender, a cape that helps dispell the static electricity in the pet's coat, which is why they get so scared. I knew that is what was bothering Paris, not the sound of thunder, because she has had her panic attacks when it is just raining and not thundering. But there is also times when it rains that she is fine. But everytime there is thunder she panics. So I contacted the company and asked if they would send me a free sample. I reallly didn't think they would so I bought one before they gave me their answers. That night I got an e-mail from the owner of the company saying that because I worked at a vet, he would send me a free sample! I was so pumped, but mad I had went ahead and bought it. I called back and he said he would cancel my order, refund my money, and send me the sample for free! WOW. I am so excited. That made me want to tell everyone about the item and promote it, if it works. That got me thinking about making a reveiw site. I have always love reading reviews on products before I buy them, so this will give me an outlet to do them myself, and hopefully help other people! I figure I am a good candidate, cause I have big and small dogs, I have dogs who like all types of food and picky eatings, I have chewers, destroyers, very trainable dogs, stubborn dogs.... the list goes on and on. I also have a cat and a horse to try those products out! I will probably try to do breed profiles and articles about pet health and other topics. I am also willing to post reviews from other people! One thing I really want to try and find are good products for small dogs. Owning Chihuahuas had proven a challenge to find chihuahua sized treats and toys. I will try to find lots of stuff for the Petit Paws of this world, hence the name The Petit Paw!

Please tell help me make this blog a success. Please tell your friends about the The Petit Paw!

Retail Therapy

These last couple weeks have been rough. I don't know why specifically, but I just have been really busy and grumpy, which means I am in some real need to retail therapy. This whole last week I have just been itching to go shopping, to buy something, anything. This attitude is bad, because then my budgeting is thrown right off and I don't care about it. Well my therapy is scheduled for tomorrow, and I have held myself back all week waiting for it. My Mom and I are heading to the city to buy some school clothes for my brother, some dressy clothes for me, wedding gifts for friends (EEK, should have been bought a long time ago!) and who knows what else! It is going to be great! I can't wait to go to Ricki's and pick out some clothes. Tomorrow I get 20% off everything in the store cause I joined their Fashion and Friends club. I also have a $10 gift certificate that they send me for my birthday. YAY!!

As for today, I am setting up my Partylite stuff and cleaning the house, trying to get rid of all the stuff I don't really need so we can reno our spare room and actually use it for something other than a storage room. Perhaps for a guest room so my Mom can stay here, or a baby room.... like that will ever happen. LOL.

AND THE WINNER IS......

EVI!! You Get 10, 00 points!!! You guessed right that it was a bladder stone! We just got the results back and to be more specific it was a 100% struvite stone. It was so cool and rewarding to see that be pulled out. We thought it was a tumour and that the dog wouldn't make it, but when we saw this we were so excited because we knew it was much more treatable! YAY. Just a diet change and some antibiotics and back to normal, hopefully!

Sorry it took me so long... I kinda forgot!

Last night was my Partylite starter party. I did not do a very good job of inviting people so only 5 people showed up! I did not get all the sales I needed either, so I have to try and get some more orders. The thing I am going to like most about being a consultant is that I don't have to invite people. I am so bad at it! LOL.

If anyone is interested in having a party please let me know. I need to have 6 per month for the first 3 months to Brite Start, which means I get a bunch of extra stuff to give away and show at my parties. It would be awesome if you could help out and get free stuff while doing it!

Dix, Dix

Dix side by side

Dix pumping hard

Dixed out at the line

Dix, Dix, Dix....

This is what I just heard... No, not on a dirty movie... It was on CBC. It was the Olympics. It was priceless....

Poor Walter Dix. I would change my name. Especially when annoucers can take advantage of my name.

Here I Go....

Soooo...... you are now reading the words of the newest Partylite Consultant! After much humming and hawing I decided to just go for it. I went to a meeting the other night and realized the potential that I could have with Partylite, and the extra money would help alot with some of the dreams we have!

I need to have 6 shows per month for the first three months and $2300 in sales each month for the first 3 months to "Brite Start", which will help me build my business faster and stronger!

You are welcome to come to my starter party: Tueday, Aug 19th @ 7:30 at Terry and Eloa's house (they have more space and chairs than my place). If you need directions let me know.

If you are interested in having your own party that would be AWESOME! Like I said, I need to have 6 per month for the next 3 months at least, but I would love to have more! It is really easy to have a host a show, and you get alot of free stuff. There is something for everyone, even if you do not like candles. I am willing to drive to Winnipeg or perhaps further for have a show.

Also, becoming a consultant is really simple and I am sure I am going to have lots of fun! Plus it is good money for not much time invested! You can work as little or as much as you want!

I am so excited. I can't wait to have my very own first show! I like to see this as a ministry! What other way can you come into contact with so many women! It is a great way to get out there and to meet new people. Please pray that I will shine my light at each and every show! Speaking of praying, please don't stop praying for my cousin and the Friesen family. Pray for healing and that my cousin can come to know God through this experience, not turn away from Him!

A State Of Disrepair - The Cleaning Begins

Finally I have a day that I can be at home all day... So the cleaning will start. For the last month or so Eric and I have been all over the place and haven't given much thought or effort to keeping our place organized. I wish I had some days off left at work cause I would love to take 2 or 3 of them and just stay home and organize. At work I am totally organized and everything is clean and in it's place. But at home everything is just left where it drops and I never have the desire to clean it up! It is horrible... so right now I am beginning again. I will start with the living room and work my way back. I will see how much I can get done in one afternoon. Eric should be home this afternoon so we might pound the posts in for my riding arena. This evening we are going to Jay & Sarah's for supper and games. I am so excited! We are playing the Zombie game finally! YES!

Another New Idea!

So one day this last weekend I had an idea! I wanted to try and make my own bag! So I went to the fabric shop in Gimli and picked up a pattern! Here is the fabric I chose:

And this is the result! I should have just used the blue for the inside, but I think it turned out ok for my first try!

I liked making itso much I went back to the fabric shop today and bought enough fabric to make 8-12 more bags to sell!! I think the pattern on the last bag was too small so I went for larger patterns this time. I think they will look better and more stylish and less artsy crafty. I am modifying the pattern a bit, making the handle longer and the bag a little bit shorter. I am so excited! Maybe this will be successful.... but probably not knowing the things I try!

This is my favorite pattern! It is going to make such a unique bag!

I Want To Stay Home!

These long weekends are no good for me. I get to stay home and just hang out. I get to clean my house, play with my dogs, do laundry, organize stuff, go get groceries and run errands, feed horses, make quilts, groom dogs, weed my garden, bake pies and cookies, make lunch for my husband, spend time with my horse, and blog often. I love that I can do all that stuff and not be stressed about time or anything. These weekends give me a taste of what it would be like to not have a full time job and to stay at home. It would be awesome.

When Eric and I first moved into this trailer after college, I didn't have a full time job for a few weeks. I got to do all the stuff I just described and more. It was awesome. I was so happy! All I want is to do that again! But right now it is just not logical to do that. If I would have just stayed home and not gotten a job, we would never have been able to go to Europe for 3 months, get a new car, make a horse fence here, renovate the trailer, etc. If I stopped working now we would not be able to do alot of the things we have planned for the house and it would take us longer to save for a house. So for now it is just dreaming. I am hoping it can be reality sooner than later though.

To-MAY-toes, To-MAH-toes...

I AM SO EXCITED! I have tomatoes on my plants! People were telling me I would have nice big plants but no tomatoes here, but I have some. Today I weeded the garded for the first time this year. Most of the weeds are 2-3 feet high, no joke.

I am convinced that all the weeds are the reason my garden in not drowned, they helped soak the water up.

My peas look really sad though, I hope we get something off of them. I hope my tomatoes grow some more on the plants though, I only have about 20-25 tomatoes right now, and I want LOTS so I can make pizza sauce and salsa!

I Wanna Learn!!

OK! So I am tired of our youth worship not being so great, so I have decided I am going to start taking piano lesson, get a keyboard, and learn to play all the songs. I was alwaying wanting to do something but thought I had no musical skill, but that is because I haven't really tried. So if any of you know anyone who is a good piano teacher around here, please let me know. I have to start right at the beginning, cause I don't know notes or anything. I would like to start in fall. Thanks!
