3 Months Old!

This post is a few days late, I don't find myself at the computer that much anymore. I usually just go on Facebook, etc on my phone or iPod while nursing. I am doing a cookbook challenge though so that will give me more motivation to blog.

Anyways, Tallet Reid is three months old now and seems SO grown up already. He just started going in his exersaucer and bumbo chair and loves them both! Below are some pictures of him in his bumbo while I was sewing. One minute he was trying to eat his toys. The next minute he had his bumbo tray in pieces on the floor! I had a good laugh.

He giggles a little bit now, smiles a lot, talks and loves to chew on our fingers. We swaddle him with one arm out now and he is able to sort of soothe himself by sucking on his fist. It is important to me that he learns to soothe himself because in 3 months he is moving up to his room for night and naps!

He has his first cold right now and it is SO sad to hear him cough and be stuffed up.

I am loving being at home, being his mommy and watching him learn and grow. I thought I might get bored at home with a baby, but my days are still pretty full. Any my house is still pretty messy. I am sure I will get more efficient as time goes on!

Making My Own Diapers

I am totally loving cloth diapering, and I will post more about it one day. But for now I want to share my latest sewing project. I made two pocket diapers, the first with red snaps and the second with yellow snaps. I am SO SO SO happy with them and I can't wait to make more with fabric I ordered online for a MUCH better price than at fabricland.

Happy New Year - 2012 Recap

2012 was a fantastic year for me! It started out with a lot of unknowns but ended up being full of life and love.

We attended 8 weddings all of them close friend and family. One of them gained me another sister. I was privileged to be in two wedding parties this year, which proved challenging with a huge belly to accommodate. But it was fun nonetheless. I will admit that by the 8th wedding I was mighty tired of that scene, mostly because I had a newborn in tow.

We moved into our very first house! I absolutely love it here and miss nothing about the trailer at all. We painted and did a few renovations (I still need to post pictures of those) to make it more our own. It is not perfect and there is still a lot of things I would like to change, but nonetheless it is such a blessing to own a house that we can grow into as a family. It is also really nice to be live on the farm yard. Eric can walk to work year round and he can more easily come home for lunch during the day.

We also finalized buying the farm this year. I can now say that we own a turkey farm! Well half of it anyways. I am quite excited to be a farmers wife. While I would have been happy with whatever Eric chose to do as a career, I am glad he chose farming. I may have nudged him in this direction a bit... But he does really enjoy working on the farm and that is important to me! He usually comes home happy from a long day of work, with the rare exception of when something breaks down or something like that. I am excited that I get to raise my kids in the country on a farm, I always wished I grew up on one!

And of course the best thing to happy in 2012 was the arrival of our precious first born Tallet Reid. But that pretty much goes without having to be said! After a few years of never knowing if I would get to experience pregnancy, birth and being a mother I got to experience it all in one year. I am so thankful for everything that has come along with those experiences, the bad, the hard, the good and the easy! I have enjoyed watching Tallet learn and grow and I am excited for everything he will learn in 2013! He was definitely worth the wait. In fact I am glad we had to wait because it led us to him, not just any baby, but Tallet specifically.
