Our Farmhouse Table

Our table is finally done! It is exactly what I wanted it to look like, and that doesn't happen to me very often.

Below I posted pictures of the Restoration Hardware table ours was inspired by. It is on sale right now for $2500.

Our table cost under $300, and we still have enough wood, stain and wax to build a coffee table too!

I kind like ours better, too!

My First 5K!

I just signed Eric and I up for this 5K on July 20th! Alyssa and Sean are also doing it with us! It will be so much fun!

I went for a 5K run today and I did it in 45:15! Not too bad! I ran for 10 min and walked for 5, cause I didn't want to overdo it on the first time. It felt SO good to get out for a run. Now I just need to cut that time in half and we are good to go!

What's Been Going On

It has been a while since I wrote a decent update from around here!

Tallet is now 5 months old! He is a happy baby for the most part. He has two teeth, can sit up, sleeps through the night and has started eating solids and LOVES them. So far we have just done rice and oatmeal cereal. I absolutely love being his mommy, and it is getting more and more fun every day! Most of my day is spend around Tallet-centered things. But in my small amount of spare time I have been doing this:

Making diapers. I have made a bunch of testers for people:

I am still waiting on a print fabric order from the US so I can make a bunch more for Tallet! I really enjoy making diapers!

I have started taking another photography course at PrairieView Photography! It is awesome and I am learning SO much more about photography! The driving to the city isn't great, but it isn't forever.

We are working on the table again. The table top is stained and ready to be waxed. The base needs to be assembled, prepped, stained and waxed. I am hoping to get it done this week! I cannot wait to see the finished product sitting in my kitchen!

I have been doing a few Steeped Tea parties here and there, and it is a lot of fun! I am hoping to do it more seriously in the fall when I am done mat leave.

I am enjoying Weight Watchers, and it seems to be working! I am really itching to start running again. I went out for a run a few days ago, on a day I thought was warm, turns out that the wind was bitterly cold. I had Tallet with me so I turned around pretty quick. I have kind of fallen off the workout wagon while I was pumping, so I am hoping to get back on ASAP!

I pumped for almost two weeks, but now I am back to breastfeeding. We were at a hockey tournament in Gimli for weekend, and we stayed at the hotel, so it was nice not to have to worry about bottles and pumping. It was pain-free for the first little but, but it is starting to hurt again. I am trying a baking soda/olive oil routine hoping that will work.

A few weeks ago I was presented with an exciting business opportunity! In the coming weeks and months we will have talks and try to figure out if it is something that would be worth the time and if I can get a business loan. I would absolutely love to work at home! I cannot say much about it now, but if and when I can, I can't wait to share!

I think that is most of what has been going on around these parts!

He's Sitting!

Tallet is growing in leaps and bounds! He has been able to sit upright for a few seconds at a time for a little while, but today when I tried he could hold him self up for MINUTES at a time! And he was reaching and playing with toys all without toppling over!

He is also sprouting a tooth! It poked through the gums on Saturday! So many changes so fast!

A Big Purchase & A Big Decision

I bought this today.

The pain was not going away. The only medication that helped a bit was diflucan, and my doctor refused to give me anymore. After 4.5 months of dreading feeding my baby, I couldn't do it anymore.

I feel a lot of guilt about this. I feel like a huge failure. This was a very hard decision for me, and it will take a few days for me to see if I am happy with it or not. Full time pumping will be a lot of work, so now I have added more work to my plate. Now I have to wash bottles, etc. I am definitely not excited about that.

I am going to exclusively pump for a week or two, and then maybe try again to feed him once I have had a chance to heal.

My Newest Diaper!

I have waited for a while to get all my materials to  make diapers, and I finally got some of them! This is my first diaper with them, and a new pattern. I am in love! The wicking jersey inner is incredible and I love the color combo!

Tallet has worn it once and it worked perfect!

I am currently in the tester phase, if you are interested in testing a diaper contact me for details!
I am hoping to be able to make a diaper that is the favorite one in the stash!
