Fabric Produce Bags - A Project

This was a really quick, fun project! They are a great way to reduce your plastic consumption by eliminating the need for those plastic bags from the produce sections. They roll up nicely and are machine washable. I made two sets!

Grocery Bag Holder - A Project

This was ridiculously simple to make, and I think it is super cute. I had everything I needed on hand, including the elastic. I sure love sewing stuff liked this!

Girly Apron - A Project From Pinterest

I have been starting at this cut fabric and pattern for a week. It kind of confused me, plus the pattern was in centimetres and all my sewing, cutting and measuring tools are in inches. Not that I can't convert it, but it just was an extra step. I hd to make the bib quite a bit wider, the size from the pattern was half the size,  quite impractical. I think it turned out great, and was fairly easy to sew when I finally figured everything out!

This was my inspiration from Pinterest:

Tweed Baby Blanket

This knit blanket is something I have dreamed about making for years. I bought the pattern at least 2 years ago. It turned out perfect. The edging took me an entire week of knitting while I was on holidays. I probably knit for 6-8 hours a day.  The yarn I got from Knit Picks and I absolutely love it. It is so soft and comfy, and I adore the tweed look. I really want to make more of these blankets, in all different colours!

Another Project - Door Mat To Wall Hanging

This project I did a long time ago, but just hung it a few weeks ago!

It started out as a $4 floor mat from a lumber store.

A little silver spray paint and it turned into a beautiful wall hanging!

Buying wall decor is quite expensive, so I am pumped when I can find cheap and easy projects to do that make a big impact!

A Project - Chalkboard

This is one of the many projects that I have been talking about for a while. I have been looking for a long time for a frame like this, mostly checking thrift stores. I FINALLY found what I was looking for at Ikea! I was originally looking for a mirror, but a picture frame works too.
I separated the frame and the glass, then spray painted the frame sliver, and tried to let some black show through for more of an antique look.

I painted the glass with two coats of DIY chalkboard paint (1/2 cup paint to 1TBSP unsanded tile grout powder. A good tip for this is to make it in a jar with a lid so you can save the extra.). After the paint dried I covered the entire surface with chalk to "prime" it and wiped it off with dry paper towel. And now it is a functioning chalkboard. And it turned out EXACTLY how I envisioned it. Actually, I think it turned out better!

My Evening

This is what I worked on all evening. I cannot say what they are yet, nor are they finished! I will post the finished products and descriptions on September 25th!!

What I did learn though, is that I love carpentry. Maybe a new career path?
