New And Old

I didn't realize how hideous my hair was until I got it redone.
You always have to look miserable in the before shot.

By the way, I have already called Delphine Loewen, so don't worry.

OH NO

This is bad. We are supposed to be saving up for our future, to build a house and whatnot. But instead we are dreaming of flying back to Europe. And I think we are going to do it. The only thing is we are NOT taking a loan out this time, we are saving up and just spending what we have.

I think we have pretty much for sure decided where we want to go. It is different than the options I was talking about before. I think we want to go to Turkey, Croatia and Montenegro and possibly Greece. We would really like to do the coast of Croatia and Montenegro, and Eric refuses to go anywhere near Turkey unless we go there! We are not sure about Greece yet. We would just go for nostalgia, and maybe see a few new things. But there is alot to see in the other three countries and I am not sure how long we want to go for and if we have time to go to Greece. I am so excited! I really hope we can make this a reality... Now comes the hard part...saving money....

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me

Officially Disturbed

You have to check out this dudes website, it is hillarious! Make sure you check out the fashion page!

He is hardcore.

Where to?

It has been a while since I did a real post! Busyness will do that do you. I have been really busy the last couple months with my full time job, partylite, youth and my animals at home. I check others blogs, but I don't really have time to sit down and post on my own!

Partylite has been going really great for me, but I have had alot of shows in Riverton and it will die out soon. I really need to have a few shows in Arborg, Gimli and area. I would also like a few more in the city, just to try and expand my customer base. I really enjoy doing it, but my house is in a constant state of disrepair. It is a disaster. I have so much Partylite stuff and no where to put it.

Actually I am stuggling with that in our house. We have no room to put anything. Eric keeps saying I should go through things and get rid of them. Well I have done that 3 times and there is still alot of stuff! We have no storage in our trailer, just in the spare room. I have no idea where we are going to keep stuff when we need the spare room. I would love to build an addition, but Eric thinks it is not worth it. Just for my sanity I think it is worth it.

I am finally puppyless!! It is so nice having trained dogs around. It is so quiet in our house now, though. Paris got bred by accident last week, and I am pretty sure she is preggo. ARGH! Unplanned. And also Maeve is in heat and will hopefully having puppies too. That one will be planned. But it kinda foils our plans to go somewhere hot in Jan/Feb.

That leads to my next issue: Where should we go? Because of some circumstances and life not working out the way we planned, we have decided to travel again in spring! The trouble is we need to decide where to go. There are alot of places I would love to go. Here are the options and the pros and cons of each place.

1. Back to Greece and to Turkey - We love Greece and it hurts my heart not to be there right now. I want to go back so bad. We also want to go to Turkey this time and travel around there. Something we haven't done yet. But we have already been to Greece twice. But we have never been to Turkey. We are just not sure if we should go back to something we love or try somethig new. The flights would be expensive but it would not cost much to travel around.

2. Germany - We would love to visit Dayna and travel around Germany a bit more. But we have already been there twice, but never when it was warm. Plus we could probably find a good deal on flights.

3.Brazil- We have always said this was the next place we wanted to go. I am sure is it beautiful there, and it is also cheap. The flights would probably be pricey though. And there is very large spiders there and I think I might die if I saw one.

4. Orlando, Florida - I have always wanted to go to Disneyworld my whole life. I would really like to go and enjoy it myself without kids. I don't think I am too old to go. Then again I wouldn't know. The only thing is it would be a little pricier than some other trips. We could go further away and for longer than we could if we went here, for the same price.

5. Hong Kong - Eric's uncle lives there, and he would really like to go visit him. I honestly used to have no desire to go to that part of the world, but I am sure it would be fun and that Cam would have tonnes of great ideas of what we could do. Plus the great wall of China would be amazing. We could also stop in BC for a few days and visit Eric's auntie there, which I would really like to do. I would rather drive there though...Flights there would be expensive and I am not sure how much everything else would be.

6. Somewhere tropical- This is probably the cheapest option, but the least exciting to me. I am not the type to lay on the beach all day. I would get bored. I would need to get out and do something. I don't really want to be stuck in a resort all day long. Eric really wants to do this though, and it quite dissapointed with the dog situation. This is what we planned to do from the start. But now that we can't go in jan or feb, that just leaves March and by then it is warming up. And before christmas is too soon.

What do you think? Where do you think we should go? Do you have any suggestions?

My New Addition

Today as I was blurking I saw a cute little widget I just had to add. It is perfect for me cause I always read more than one book at a time. It is a little bookshelf with what I am reading on it. Not that it is important or anything, but I thought it was interesting.
To make you look at it:

#1 - I have learned so much already and I am just through the first book!

#2 - Totally interesting. It was only $6.50 and I HAD to buy it. I have learnt alot already. I read it everynight

#3 - This one is on the bottom. I have read the first 3 books and now I am stuck on this one. Not that there is anything wrong with it, I just got distracted. I really would love to finish it and move on now that I think about it, before Dwight ruins the whole series for me.

This Sucks

I always hate the first snow of the year. It can never be nice fluffly flakes. Nope, it's got to be freezing rain. So far I have already wiped out and a ice pellet flew into my ear. And it is windy outside. So it was hard. It hurt lots. Only 200 more days like this, YAY!

On a brighter note, someone passed out at work yesterday. It was awesome. It was take your kid to work day, so she was the one that passed out. She was watching a neuter, a pretty clean and bloodless surgery. I have never seen anyone faint before. It was weird. She was kinda embarassed after so I tried to make her feel better about it. I hope it worked. Poor girl.

Here We Go...

*WARNING* This is a rant. These are my opinions. No one is making you read this.

I don't usually rant on here, but this one has been brewing up for a while...

I am sick of a few things:
-people not taking care of their animals
-people treating animals like a toy that is fun for a while but when the responsiblities come they are out the door
-people buying puppies from puppy mills
-free animals
-not getting your animals neutered
-disrespect of the veterinary profession

I am am sure there are more, I might add them later. Let me explain a bit

The first two kind of go together, well actually alot of them go together. I can't even think of where to start, but I will try at the first on my list. People not taking care of their animals. Why get an animal if you are not willing to spend the money to take care of it. If you think the animals is worthless, you probably shouldn't get one. This especially gets me when people get outdoor animals and they have kids and they don't get their animal vaccinated for Rabies. Not all Rabies is the crazy one where they are foaming at the mouth, sometimes they just seem depressed and want to be left alone. The animal could bite your child and they might not mention it too you and before it is too late... .there is no cure for Rabies once you have it. It scares me how many dogs and cats are running around unvaccinated playing with kids. You might say "what are the odds of that happening" Well I don't know the odds, but I know it can happen. Are you willing to take that chance?? I'm not.

It really aggravates me when people get animals on a whim, and then the animal has a minor problem, and instead of fixing it, they just get rid of the animal. I just wish people would understand that when you get an animal, chances are it is going to get sick sometime in it's lifetime and you should be prepared for that. If you are not willing to deal with a sick animal don't get one. I am not saying everyone has to do chemo for their animals or anything like that. I am talking about the little stuff. If your animal has mites, worms, fleas or any other parasite, just bring it in and get it checked out and get it fixed. Expect that kind of stuff before you get an animal.

Puppy mills also make my blood boil. The people pack tonnes of dogs into a kennel or a barn or the like and just pump out puppies for the profit, not caring about the health and genetics of the puppies they produce! AND PEOPLE BUY THEM. LIKE CRAZY. I know many people have turned away from buying a puppy from me cause they have to sign a contract saying that they will provide the proper care for the animal and give it back to me if they cannot keep it anymore. I just don't want my pups ending up in shelters!! I don't want to add to the problem! So many times I have heard people say, but I couldn't leave the puppy there in those horrible conditions. WELL, thanks for adding to the issue. Because you took that puppy out of there, many more will be produced to replace it. You are just feeding the buisiness and encouraging it to keep on going. Making more animals suffer.

This leads into my dislike of petstores that sell puppies. They put the poor things in small glass cages all day. That have to stand on grates so when they poop and pee it will go through the bars instead of taking them to the washroom outside. Also they charge 10x what the dog is worth. Most dogs are over $1000, and they are not purebreds with papers. They are "hybrids" which is just a fancy word for a dog without papers. For the price you would pay for a "hybrid" pup at a petstore, you could buy a dog from a good breeder and have a pedigree and know the dogs history and everything.

I hate when people get free animals. Of course, I have gotten free animals, and it is not the recieving a free animal that bothers me. It bothers me that because they got the animal for free, that it is worthless and they should not invest any money in taking care of it. Again, don't get an animal if you are not willing to take care of it.

I know alot of people have the "old school"mentality where nobody spent money on animals, and they often use that to justify why they will not spend money on their animal. Sorry guys, but that just won't fly for me. There is really no excuse to not take care of your animal.

If you do not want to breed your animal, get it neutered. Quit adding to the problem of overloaded shelters. Don't get an animal if you don' think it is worth the one time fee of $100-$200 to get it fixed. It is not like you have to pay that every year.

People around this area have often laughed at me when I tell them some of the things that we do at my job. They laugh cause they think it is rediculous that someone would spend that kind of money on an animal. So often I have heard "It is only 1 dollar for a bullet". EW. Again, they should be animalless.

Also, don't laugh at the people who spend thousands of dollars on their animals. Some people choose to spend thousands of dollars on luxury items on their vehicles, vacations etc. How is that any different. It is acceptable to spend $5000 on some fancy upgrades that are unnessesary for a vehicle, but it is not acceptable to spend that on an animal? It is the same thing!
