For Dayna!

I added a playlist above this post with the songs I talked about before!! There is two songs of hope, the studio one is the one I am used to, but the acoustic is ok. I also added another one by Phil Wickham which is really awesome!! Enjoy!

I will probably be moving it to another spot on the blog after a while.

Then I went to youth and played soccer and it was lots of fun. Then I was so ambitious I lunged Zaiyah for a while and it was great. It is so nice to be workinng with her. I hate this slow internet. I can't wait to get faster .... Eric still doesn't want it though. ! I really want to move to Greece. Like Seriously!

Dishes, working in the garden, and my new favorite songs!

ARGH! I am taking a break right now from doing the dishes. I HATE doing them. I really our dishwasher worked. I just get so lazy sometimes and don't have any motivation to clean. The Norwex dishcloth I have is awesome though. My house is a disaster right now. I had to move the puppies into a pen in the kitchen, because Paris is due and day now and needed to start living the the kennel. I just wish I had more motivation to clean. The house has just been cluttering for the last 2 weeks and it sucks.

Today Eric tilled the garden so I can start planting any day now!! YAY! I also worked up and weeded the front flower bed today, all I need is some now soil and it will be ready to plant! Tomorrow my friend Meghan and I are going to go to Frieda's flowers to buy some stuff. I will probably get some flowers, tomatoes, melons and pumpkins. I am still trying to decide what else I want to plant in the garden. I think I am going to do the stuff I said above, plus potatoes, peas, carrots. But I am also wondering if I should plant some other stuff like onions, letttuce...

Here are two of my new favorite songs. The first is by Robbie Seay Band and is called Song of Hope. The second is by Fee and is called All Because of Jesus. I love them lots and they uplift me so much when I hear them!!

All things bright and beautiful You are
All things wise and wonderful You are
In my darkest night, You brighten up the skies
A song will rise

I will sing a song of hope
Sing along
God of heaven come down
Heaven come down
Just to know that You are near is enough
God of heaven come down, heaven come down

All things new
I can start again
Creator, God
Calling me Your friend
Sing praise, my soul
To the Maker of the skies
A song will rise

I will sing a song of hope
Sing along
God of heaven come down
Heaven come down
Just to know You and be loved is enough
God of heaven come down, heaven come down

Hallelujah, sing
Hallelujah, sing
Hallelujah, sing

----------------------------------------------
giver of every breath I breathe
author of all eternity
giver of every perfect thingto you be the glory
maker of heaven and of earth
no one can comprehend your worth
king over all the universe
to you be the glory

I'm alive because i'm alive in You

and it's all because of Jesus I'm alive
it's all because the blood of Jesus Christ
that cover's me and raised this dead man's life
it's all because of Jesus I'm alive

every sunrise sings Your praise
the universe cries out your praise
i'm singing freedom all my days
now that I'm alive

Car Monster!

It seems I have become a car monster. Yes. I know. I hog the car. Alot. I don't mean to really. I just really don't like anyone else driving it. I just want to protect it as much as I can and I want to take good care of it. It was expensive and I don't really trust anyone else to be careful with it like I will be. It is bad. I know. It is not that I am idolizing it, I just want to keep it nice. It is driving Eric bonkers. This is me:

Garden????

This year I would REALLY love to get a garden in. Last year I just didn't have time and kind of forgot about it and then it was too late. I was really hoping to get our yard looking nice this spring, but I haven't found the time!! I just realized that it is already pretty much the end of May, and my garden and flower bed have not been touched! I really need to get on that. And I should go get some flowers before they are all picked through and gone. They probably already are!! I just have a feeling this year is going to be a repeat of last! Oh no! I will be so sad!

Things You Probaby Already Figured Out About Me And Some Things You Might Never Have Guessed

  1. I think I am part Greek. When I am in Greece, I just feel like I belong. I love the people, the food, the country, everything about it. I wish I could live there, even for a little bit.
  2. I love road trips. Especially with just Eric. It is such good bonding time. We both love driving for long hours and listening to music and hanging out. We are always looking for an excuse to go on a road trip!
  3. I sometimes say I'll do things and then forget about them. I don't want to forget, but it happens. More often then I would like.
  4. I HATE dealing with conflict and I try to avoid it as much as possible. I hate those uncomfortable situations and conversations.
  5. I check Facebook WAY to often. It is not that exciting really.
  6. I LOVE LOVE LOVE blogging and reading other people's blogs. I get sad when people don't post lots. So I am trying to do it more. Not than anyone reads mine. But I do.
  7. I really like to spend money. It is bad. I get a rush when I get new stuff. I think it is cause I never really had alot of my own money when I was younger, so I am making up for it now!
  8. I usually don't listen to people's (especially my family's) advice if I don't ask for it first.
  9. I am heavily influenced by advertising and nice packaging. This is something Joel pointed out to me in Europe. If the packaging is ugly or gross, I tend to think the product sucks. If something is advertised lots, I want to try it!
  10. I have very strong opinions. Most of the time it is on things that don't really matter.
  11. I love singing. I don't have a very good voice, but I love to belt it when I am home alone.
  12. I still want an Easy Bake oven. There is just something about them that I missed when I was little cause I never got one.
  13. I am scared of the dark.
  14. It creeps me out that there are wild animals running free in the bush.
  15. I wish I would have grown up when there wasn't any cars and we had to ride horses everywhere.
  16. I cry lots from music on the radio. Stupid sappy songs.
  17. I love stars. Real ones and patterns. My favorite!
  18. I love the combination of the colours blue, green and purple.
  19. 17&18 are the reasons this blogger template is PERFECT!
  20. There was alot more things I wanted to put on this list, but I forgot them now.

Fishing!!

I love these evenings! They are so fun! Just going for a ride down to the local drainage ditch for some good fishing. Eric caught one on his first cast! I had a bite, but he got loose at the very end! I was so sad. I never catch fish. We took Maeve for a ride too. I think she had a good time. She darted around lots, and drank lots of water, but she relaxed towards the end. I love these times beause they are so relaxing. There is no pressure. You can just hang out with friend and eat sunflower seeds and drink pop. Here are some pictures from tonight.

Cleaning Greener!

Two nights ago I went to a friend's Norwex party. I didn't really want to go beacause I didn't think I would really want anything from there and I already had some Norwex cloths, but I went anyways. The Norwex lady explained things really well, and got me excited about their very environmentally friendly products!

Eric and I have been trying to become "greener" lately, cause I hate that humans polute this planet so much. Norwex's whole point is to clean without chemicals. All their products are made of natural ingredient that do not harm the enviromnent. With a cleaning cloth, you can do most of your cleaning with just that and water. Their products are awesome! And there are lots more stuff that I want to get.

So of course they sucked me into having a party. If you are interested, it is on June 17th @ 7:30pm . Please feel free to come and bring a friend. If you can't make it and would like to order, we can do that too!!

A Greek Mother's Day

Today I had alot of fun! I love having people over and making nice meals for them. Today we had my family and Eric's family over for Mother's day. There was a Greek theme. All the food was Greek, and some of the drinks.

We had bread and greek salads with oil and vinegar to starts. Then we had Dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) for an appetiser. The main course was pork souvlaki and lemon potoatoes. Then we had a shot of ouzo to help digest our meal. For dessert we had Karithopita, a very delicious cake (It is sort of like a spice cake) and coffee. It was very good and I had fun cooking it.

Then our Mom's stayed for a while after to visit, which I was really glad they did. I am glad they did not leave right away! I had a good day, and I hope I made it a very special day for my mothers!

She's home!

I just got back from bringing Zaiyah home. Right now I am watching her through the window. She is running around the perimeter of her fence seeing where she can get out. LOL. She sure is beautiful when she runs though.

The walk went pretty good. I cleaned her feet at the farm and headed out. She was ok for the first 5 minutes, then she started to get antsy, but she was still managable. Then when we got to the cows in the fields on either side of her, she started to freak out. I thought I was going to lose her, but I managed to hold and gave her a good tug on the rope, then she seemed to be ok. She of course was antsy the whole walk, but no more freak outs.

I walked her around her pasture a bit and then let her go. She sniffed around for a bit and was pretty calm. Then she spun around and ran off in the direction of the farm, I thought she was going to jump the fence for sure. But she stopped just in time!! She ran back and forth for a while trying to find an opening, and then she came right back to me! I brushed her for a while and she grazed. I was out there for about an hour with her, and she just hung around me the whole time.

So now I am in the house watching her through the windows and she is running everywhere. I hope she will calm down soon. I will probably go see her again a little later on, so she know I am around!

I already LOVE having her at home. It is awesome. I can just go out there whenever I want. Say hi to her in the morning when I go to work. I am so lucky to be able to have her there!

Moving Day!!

Today I am moving Zaiyah, my horse, home!! I am VERY VERY excited! It is going to be awesome. I have to walk her home from the farm though, cause I am too scared to ride her all the way back her. I am a wimp, I know. WHOA!! I should go check on the water, it is probably overflowed by now! Have a great Saturday!!

PS. Our youth group did awesome at the Slave Auction! Everyone can go to the youth retreat free!!! YAY! Praise God!!

Music...

I LOVE music! I don't know how I would survive without it, but in the last couple years, it had had a lack of Chrisitan content. I wouldn't say it was bad music, it was mostly postive, but not Christian. I used to have tonnes of Christians bands that I liked and listened to, but after a while a grew out of them. Then I had this mentality that all Christian music was lame, and there was no good bands. I knew that wasn't true, but I didn't want to put the effort into proving myself wrong.

Then a few things got me thinking about the kind of stuff I was listening to, and it made me realize I should be ( and want to be) listening to more God honouring music. Then Eric wanted to listen to a Christian station in our car on satelite radio the other day, and that's when we found The Message. It is a great christian pop stations, I haven't changed it since!! We are even thinking about keeping that subscription when the free trial runs out, just for that Station!

There is still some pretty bad music on there. I just hate when Christian artist copy EXACTLY a secular pop artist. That to me is lame. But that aside, I have at least 6 CDs I want to buy now!! My favorite so far has been Phil Wickett. The others I can think of right now are Mark (or Matt) Roach, Stellar Kart, Natalie Grant... there are more but they slipped my mind.

And I am sorry people, but Micheal W. Smith is horrible. He doesn't even have a very good voice. He can hit the notes, but I don't like listening to his voice, it annoys me.

I heard a Jars of Clay song today, I Want To Fall In Love With You, I forgot how good they were! They are awesome! I wonder if they are still around. I also hear Third Day quite a bit, and they are always good. Jeremy Camp is good too.

*** This spider on the wall is really taunting me, I have to kill it now. EWW. I wish Eric was here to do it for me. I MISSED IT. OH NO. It is going to crawl inside my mouth at night****

I can't end this music talk without mentioning Relient K. I have always loved them, and always will love them. They are the best! They just keep getting better!!

If you know of anyone else I might like, please let me know. I really want to expand my Christian music knowledge!!

My Birthday List!

Usually when people ask me what I want for my b-day, I can't think of anything. But this year I have thought of a few things! The only problem is that they are all pretty expensive! Not that I HAVE to get them or need to get them but it is nice to dream! I don't want you to think I am greedy, I just need a place to write them down so I don't forget about them! And they are so cool I want to share them with you!

1. Roomba Vacuum. The most amazing thing every. It will automatically clean everyday while I am at work so I don't have to, and I will always have clean floors when I get home. I want it so bad! It would be so nice for all the pet hair. I am already saving my money for it!

2. Fancy Plates. I have always wanted some nice plates. We only have Corelle plates that do not look fancy at all, they are cute, but not nice. I would love square. So I saw a Corelle commercial the other day, and I checked out the website today. They have lots of nice looking plates! That are square! I already have my design picked out! Well, I am trying to decide between this one, this one, this one, and this one. I also really really like this one but it is almost too girly, though, for Eric's sake. Eric's favorite is this one. How do you ever pick?!?! I don't know how. I really want something that is not too modern so I can have it for a long time, but I also want something stylish. Plus they are Corelle, so I know they will be durable and strong. Which ones do you like the best??

I also want riding boots, a riding helmet, and a saddle but I was so excited about the other two that I wanted to share them for you!

Oh, What To Blog!

The other day I was thinking of things I could blog about, I must have come up with 10 different things. Right now I can only think of one thing! I should have written them down like I was going to!! They will come back to me. But for now I will just talk about...

My brand new car!! I haven't talked about it that much yet. It is GREAT! I love it. It drives so well, there is lots of room, and it is so cute! I have really enjoyed it so far. We took it to the island on the weekend, and it was so nice to have room to fit the dog's kennels inside, so they could be in them, instead of on our laps! Way safer! It is much better on gas as well, so it will save us money in that way. Plus it is nice to have 2 vehicles, Eric doesn't have to be stuck in Mennville for 2 weeks straight anymore!

I always said I would never buy a brand new vehicle, but I must say, it is pretty nice to smell that new car scent everyday! Another great thing is that we get free satelite radio for three months. I try to listen so the Christian music stations as much as I can while we have them. I usually listen to the Message, which is pretty good. I think it is a Christian pop station. There are some pretty lame songs on there, they sound like they are from the '80s, but that is another topic for another day...

My New Obsession!

A couple weeks ago a friend called and asked if I would be interested in hosting a Partylite party to help her out. I hummed and hawed and finally said yes, just to help her out. I had looked through the catalouge and there wasn't anything really great in there that I wanted, so I thought about cancelling. But I didn't so I planned and invited lots of people. I started flipping through the catalouge and finding things that I liked and wanted. The list was small at first, but it kept getting bigger and bigger each time I would look at the book. I started seeing stuff that I really liked.

So it came time for the party. I really did not have high hopes, I just hoped I would be able to sell $250 dollars worth of stuff so I could get a decent amout of stuff for free. Only 7 people showed up to the party, but it was fun and I had made a good snack. I wasn't sure how it would do. But with a few outside orders, I ended up getting $1100 in sales! I couldn't believe it! I was so excited. I got almost $400 of FREE stuff! I also got 4 half price items. I got my WHOLE list of stuff I wanted, and more. I ended up payed $250 out of my own pocket for the half price items and hostess specials, but I got almost $1000 worth of stuff for that much. YEAH. I have alot of Partylite stuff. I love it. I didn't really have any nice decorations for my house, and now I do. Plus I have always loved candles, I love having them burning, I love the way they light up a room, nothing compares. Now I have nice stuff to burn them in, rather than a plate or a childish holder. I actually have grown up stuff! I am sure there are better things I could have spent that money on, but I have NEVER bought anything like this for myself, so I thought why not this one time!

BUT! Now that I have all this stuff and I love Partylite so much and I still have a list of lots of stuff I would like to get, I am thinking of become a consultant. It is something I think would be really fun. It would be selling something I love. It would be making a little bit of extra money on the side. I just don't know if I have the time for it. Well, I don't really have the time for it right now, so I might start in Fall when life is more in order. Maybe it won't be by then, but I am thinking it will. LOL. We will see, I have to talk to Eric about it and see what he thinks. He is my sanity monitor, I trust his opinion.

I actually have somebody that said they will have a party from me if I become one, so that is just making me want to do it even more. I also thought nobody would want to host parties from me, but when I started thinking there was lots of people I could ask to have one, or that would want to have one!! So maybe.....
Wanna host a party from me?!?!?!

Meet Stormy, My New Best Friend!

Do you like her?!? Well, I love her, and I don't know how I lived without her. I really underestimated the importance of having a filing cabinet. I have always struggled to keep our house uncluttered, there was always papers lying around that I didn't want to throw out, so my house always had piles of papers sitting around. We had a little filing folder, but it was so full I could barely close it! Enter Stormy, and my life becomes so much more organized. I am not done filling her up yet, but once I put everything I want to in there, this will be one step closer to sanity! WHOOO!

On The Edge

Friday was my roughest day of work ever, I think. I was just pushed so far to the end of my patience. I was ready to flip. I rarely show my emotions when I am upset at work, but there was just so many things that were aggravating I could barely fake a smile. Because of that my whole weekend has been off.

I love being out at Matheson Island because I have no responsibilities there. Well, I have to take care of the dogs, but I don't have to worry about cleaning or organizing the house or anything. I can just relax and hang out. I helped out with a vaccination clinic on Saturday at the island, but other than that I just hung out. It was good! But then on Sunday I definitely had my grumpy pants on tight. I just couldn't help it, I didn't want to be around other people, I just wanted to be at home. I feel better now that I have been home most of the afternoon and I have had some time relax, I don't feel so helpless. Hopefully I am ready to start another week of work.
