The 90 Day Challenge

Today I started my Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge!

Now, generally I try to stay away from fad diets. I have tried many of them and they work for a short period of time, but I just can't seem to stick with them.

I don't see this as a fad diet, I just see it as a challenge! It consists of two protein shake meals a day, and one healthy balanced meal with healthy snacks in between. I already have a protein shake for breakfast every morning, so that stays the same, but I am also going to have one for lunch. I am excited about this because I am always scrambling to find something for lunch, and this will be easy and healthy!

The shake mix is a sweet cream flavour, so you can mix it with pretty much anything. This morning for breakfast I mixed it with a cup of frozen raspberries and a cup of skim milk for "Raspberries & Cream", and for supper tonight I plan on having a Peanut Butter Cup shake! I will mix a bit of chocolate frozen yogurt, 2 tsp peanut butter, the chocolate mix in, 2 scoops shake mix and a cup of skim milk. (I had lunch at the in-laws which is why I am having it for supper).

My goal in the 90 days is to loose 25 lbs and exercise 45 minutes 5 days a week regularly.

If you would like to join me you can visit http://lintc.myvi.net/ for more information.

The shakes are not just for weight loss. One a day helps maintain a healthy weight, and mixed with water or skim milk after a work out is a great way to help build healthy lean muscle. ViSalus also has vitamins, metabolism boosters, and natural energy drinks, and protein cookies. I like that they try to focus on healthy, natural products!

Another great thing about these shakes is that they are Low GI, so they are perfect for my diet to help control PCOS. I have been of the wagon for over a month now, and I am excited to get back on!

Another App.

I had my appointment today. It was pretty uneventful. I won't write all the details on here because most people will not want to read it. Basically he did a PAP test and made sure it is physically possible to do an IUI. Everything was good so now we are just waiting for a phone call.

We should hear from the nurses in October to schedule an IUI, but of course I hope we get a call sooner!

Appointment

Yesterday we had an appointment at Heartland with Dr. K. Eric had a SA and I had an exam all in preparation for an IUI. They couldn't do my exam because of AF, so I have it rescheduled for Thursday morning.

The SA cost $250, so with the $350 program sign up fee we have spent 600 bucks on this process so far, and we still have another $2500 to go, and that is just for a first try!

I am excited to be getting somewhere in this process, but it is hard for me to not think of all the cool baby gear I could have gotten instead with that money. I don't want it to sound like I am complaining. I know a baby will be so totally worth it! I can't wait to hold him or her in my arms!

Dog Friendly Pins

I one day dream of building a very dog friendly house. Not sure if Eric dreams of that, but here are some ideas I would like to incorporate:

I would love this so we wouldn't need extra room for the plastic kennels the dogs sleep in now.

I love that is goes from inside to outside.

I dream of having a tub to bathe my dogs in. This room would have kennels on the other side similar to the ones in the previous picture. This would also be my laundry room. I ilke all the cupboards for storage.

Again, no extra stuff lying around. I love built ins!

I know my dogs would love to hang out with me as I cook, waiting for a morsel to drop!

A great way to use extra space!

Star Lake

Tonight we are off to Star Lake in the whiteshell for the week. Eric's family rents this camp every year. We have our own private beach, and this year we even get our own cabin! I am really looking forward to a week full of swimming, biking, running, hiking, canoeing, boating, reading, sleeping, good eating, shopping and most importantly, relaxing!

Patience In Waiting

There was a reason my infertility blog was called Waiting. That is all I seem to be doing. Waiting for an appointment. Waiting for results. The Two Week Wait. On the waiting list. Waiting for a phone call. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

I used to pray for patience all the time. And you know what they say, when you ask for patience, God doesn't just give it to you, He puts you in situations where you can practice patience. That is all fine and dandy, but never did I think my patience would be put to the test at this level.

When I think back to how I used to be just a few short years, and every months ago, I think I can now call myself a patient person. I know there are times when I am not at all, but as a whole I am pretty patient.

But to be honest, I am tired of waiting. I don't want any more patience, or more specifically I don't need any more practice! I just want a baby in my arms.

( I know what many of your are thinking. Clearly I am in need of more patience because I am tired of waiting. But I think there is a difference between being impatient and being tired of waiting, especially in regards to infertility. I am spent. Done. Exhausted. I don't have the mental capacity to be impatient. I am just tired.)

AF showed up this morning. Another month down the drain, but another month closed to an IUI. We have an appointment on Monday at Heartland for some testing. I am hoping they can do it in the middle of AF.

Number 700

Wow! Can't believe this is my 700th post! Seven hundred times I have clicked publish and some people have read it. So neat.

Anyways, tonight we are heading to a Goldeyes baseball game for our birthdays. I am really hoping the weather is good. I really love going to baseball games, although it isn't quite the same the Blue Jays, it is still fun.

Sleeping In The Living Room

A couple days our AC in our bedroom conked out. A couple days ago a heat wave started in MB. So last night we dragged out mattress to the living room in front of our AC. Yes, we had two. Our living room and bedroom are at opposite ends of the trailer, so we need two.

Last night I had the best sleep ever. It was so cool and wonderful. We are probably going to leave the mattress here until we get another AC for our bedroom. I just can't function after a night of tossing and turning because of the heat. Before we moved the mattress last night I was sweating just laying in bed with the fan on.

I hate to complain about the heat, because I really do love summer. But when it gets so hot and humid like this outside it is hard to enjoy it. I am however hoping the heat stays for next week when we are in the Whiteshell!

I love this light. I need to learn how to take better pictures in it! I have a feeling Eric is going to get sick of posing for me...

Productive Day

Today I feel like I got a lot done. After working a full day, I did some of the dished. Then I had a birthday supper at Eric's parents with chicken, pasta salad, fresh carrots and peas, beets (hehehe) and coffee chiffon cake for dessert. It was amazing.

Then we came home and got our garden weeded and our flowers watered. We still have to clean up the garden a bit better and weed the flower beds.

We also got the Irish Setters both groomed. Finn had tonnes of mats, even though I just cleaned him up 2 weeks ago. So we clipped him, brushed him out, cut his nails and cleaned his ears. Tomorrow he is coming to work with me for a bath. I have been dealing with some skin issues with him for a long time. It started last year where his hair started thinning on his face and dorsum. And he got really scaly. We tried changing his food and Omegas, and over the winter it went away.

But as soon as spring was back he started thinning and getting scaly again. We tried supplementing with zinc and omegas but it doesn't seem to be working. So I am trying this Shampoo/Spray combo treatments that will hopefully work.

Anyways, Maeve got a brush down, nails clipped and ears cleaned. We definitely don't groom them enough. We are going to start brushing them for 5 minutes every day. That should be enough to keep them from matting up.

I was planning on going to bet at 10:30 so I could run in the morning, but now it is almost and hour later!

Here are some of my favourite pictures from this weekend! It felt like it was way too short! Next year I am going to have to take Friday off so I can enjoy more time with my family.

Day In The Sun

I had a great day in the sun with family today. The internet is really slow here, or else I would post some of my pictures.

I got to sleep in this morning! We ate breakfast and hung out at the pool for a while. After lunch we headed to Steinbach for some shopping. We went to get new phones too, since our contract is up. But the MTS there was closed for the day because there were moving. Just our luck! We decided to head to the city to get it done anyways. I got a BlackBerry Torch and Eric got a BlackBerry Style. I like it, but I still have a lot of stuff to figure out!

We had steak for supper, and then went to the pool again. Now I think I will go sit around the fire with my fam for the rest of the night!

Lilac

This weekend we are "camping" at Lilac Resort with all of my family. I have been coming here with my family for about 15 years. A lot of my family tries to make it. I think it is cool that we get together like this every year. Everyone usually comes on Thursday, but because I had the retirement party and I worked today, I didn't come until this evening.

I am looking forward to a weekend full of relaxing and swimming in the pool!

Cooking Classes

This evening after work I went to Sandy Hook cooking classes for a retirement party. Our practice manager, E, had retired in February. She was such a great person to work with. Always smiling, easy to talk to, and always ready to help us out and give advice. She was like a second Mom! I am going to really miss working with her, but her replacement, K, is also pretty awesome!

We had the Crepes Menu at Sandy Hook Cooking Classes. We switched the Salmon crepe for bruscetta. We had Chicken Broccoli crepes and strawberry salad for the main course. For dessert we had a Bajan crepe, filled with chocolate sauce and bananas and topped with whipped cream, coconut and coconut rum. Everything was very good!

Eric and I would love to go back with some friends one day!

26

Another Blog from the car!

Today I turned 26. It was a good full day and I felt very loved and spoiled!

Eric gave me a new lens for my camera, it is a zoom lens. He also got me a UV filter. I used it a bit at baseball tonight, and I am excited to play around with it at Lilac this weekend.

I worked a full day, and then hung out with friends until baseball. We won our baseball game for the first time ever and then went to brennevins for supper.

At work I got lunch, flowers and a birthday cake! Like I said, I was very spoiled. Oh! And my MIL came and we went browsing shops for a little while in the afternoon.

I Love Camp!

This evening Eric and I went up to camp to visit. Today was the only day that it worked. I love being at camp. I love the God filled atmosphere. I am pumped for all the lives that are going to be changed there.

I would really love to go back for another week. Pray that If that is what God wants of me that I will be able to do it.

Pray for camp, for the staff, for the campers. That everyone there will leave a changed person and that many people will be blessed as a result!

Camp

It was incredible. I showed up Monday morning to cook for the week and 1 hour later I was moving my stuff into a cabin to counsel. Parts of me were excited, but parts of me did not want to. But I really felt God urging me into that direction. And I am glad I did.

I had 8 girls in my cabin, so it was packed full with one on the floor. They were a fun bunch of girls. They all got along quite well with each other.

God definitely showed up this last week. He revealed himself to many of the campers and staff. It was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had at camp.

I want to go back. I want to be there all summer. I love the staff, I love the environment, I love the close encounters with God. It is such an uplifting place it be.

I really think that is how our church life should be as well. When I needed prayer, people stopped right there and prayed for me instead of saying I will be praying for you then walk off. That is a challenge to me in my life. To boldly step out and use prayer to it's fullest. Prayer doesn't have to be confined to church buildings and my bedroom at night.

Here are some of my favourite pictures of the week:

Perrier with lemon. It has no calories but it tastes like a drink that would be bad for you. Yummy and refreshing!

Grey

I finally convinced Eric to let me keep a puppy. It came with some stipulations, but that is ok. She is worth it.

Her name is Grey and she is a blue and white longhaired Chihuahua and she is the best puppy ever. She is mild mannered and sweet. She follows me around the house. If I am in the kitchen she sits on the mat in the entrance and watches me. If I am on the couch she wants to be right near me.

She is a happy puppy, and loves treats. She listens very well and always comes for treats. The only issue she has is housebreaking, and now that all the other puppies are sold it should be easy.

I can't wait to see what she will look like when she is grown.

I love my little greaser
