This year I am in charge of planning a craft for BCBC, even though last year was a disaster! I have a few ideas this year, but I am always looking for something better! So, if you can think of something that is creative, fun, will take about 3-4 hours to make (5 days @ 45 minutes a day or so), and the supplies are affordable (this is the hardest part), than I would love to hear it. Just throw out ideas! It would be best it if has to do with nature, camp, etc. Last year we did calenders with scrapbooking paper and stamps.

I love them both, but we could make a 3 or 4 of the second one, and string them together. That would at least make the project a little bit longer. That way, the faster kids can make lots of them, and the slower kids can get at least one or two made! Therefore I am leaning towards the second one.

I remember when I had to plan camp crafts for the summer. It was so hard because you're right, most crafts can be done in 1-2 hours. The ones that take much longer are either too expensive or the skill level is so high that kids can't do it or they get really frustrated. I feel for you girl! If I think of any ideas I'll let you know. Btw, when are you guys coming over? (See now it's an invitation!)

i used to have the job of planning crafts and i still always keep my eyes open for ideas.i saw a neat idea at Ten Thousand Villages that i thought might be a possibility. it is made with rolled up paper, such as sears catalog type of color and type [not newsprint] they had a number of different things made with the paper; coasters, hot pot trivets, Christmas tree ornaments, birds to hang in a window. later i saw the same type of handwork at the urban barn.
an other idea, also from TTV's; a wallet or purse made from pop cans. the cans were cut open and flattened and then sewed together to make the items. i have a purse that you can have a look at or have as a sample.
the 13th would work but the next weekend Mark is preaching so he'll be working on that, then the last weekend in Feb would work again I think. When are you coming in next?
