A Healthy Pregnancy

I really want to have a healthy pregnancy. I guess everyone does! But so far I have not been very successful. I haven't been eating the healthiest food, and I hadn't worked out at all, except for two walks before I knew I was pregnant for sure.

Tonight I finally cracked open my prenatal workout DVD. And honestly I did it because I was bored. I got snowed in today, so I was stuck at home all day. The living room has finally been set up and cleaned, dishes were all done, floors were vacuumed, and I had read for a good portion of the day already. Eric left for hockey so at 9:30 I was inspired to pop in the DVD. I am glad I did. The workout was challenging but not too strenuous. And I feel great! I would ideally love to do this DVD 3 times a week, walking 2-3 times a week and doing the prenatal yoga 2 times a week. But I am never good at sticking to my plans, so we will see!

Next I need to work on healthy eating. Fruits and veggies are not satisfying enough. but I need to find a way to make them work!

During pregnancy, protein is very very important. So is fat! Things like butter and eggs are totally necessary. Look up the Bradley Method. I'll see if I can find a link for you.

This is a friend's blog post about the diet recommended for pregnancy.

Sounds like a good plan! Just take it day by day and don't think too much about the future. Just do what's good for you today and hopefully you'll have a new routine!
Glad you had a snow day!

I like frozen blueberries with a little sugar and milk. don't try to go to much by the book just do your best. You are gunna be and already are a good Mom :)

Don't stress out about it too much, that isn't good either. I remember being so tired my first trimester, I would get home from work, try to eat something (but often that was a pathetic attempt), and then fall asleep on the couch by 7:30. But the second and first part of the third trimester was great! I ate almonds as a snack, and a TON of frozen blueberries. Do the best you can, but don't beat yourself up over the little stuff! Do you have "What to Expect When your Expecting", while the book is hit and miss I believe there is a part about food in it, might be worth the read. If you want to borrow my copy let me know, i can dig it out for you!

Good for you!!! I think all I managed while preggo was a daily walk, but even that helped;) Best wishes and I'll be praying for you with your get/stay healthy routine!
