Almost Ready!

Tonight I made over 50 bath bombs for the craft sale on Saturday, that is about 20 more than I made the other day. I also modified the recipe a bit, and I like this one better. It just makes it easier to mold and should dry nicer. Tomorrow I will make some more bubble bars, and then I am all ready to go! I am hoping people will like this stuff!

Bath Bombs!

Today I worked on some bath bombs. I finally figured how to get them to stay in balls, and I figured out a good recipe/method to make them. Like most of my recipes, some things are thrown in and some are not measured at all! They are tricky to make, that's for sure!

I have a craft sale on Saturday, so I am trying to get enough stuff together to sell there! I plan on making two more kinds of bath bombs, and another batch or two of bubble bars. I am not sure how well they will sell, so I don't want to make too many. But I don't want to run out either!

I actually think I am going to make some more now!

Internet's Out

My internet is now completely out! I was lucky enough to get on blogger earlier, but now it is not loading anything. This is quite frustrating, but maybe it is good for me to be off the internet for a while!

This new low gi diet and no dairy diet is fine at home, but I am finding it quite hard going over to peoples places for meals. I feel rude turning down food, but eating it doesn't make me feel great. We just got back from a meal, and while it was delicious, my stomach is very angry at me. I really don't know what to do about it! What if all the food someone serves me is unsuitable?!? I just feel like staying home all the time for meals!

What would you do?

Spring Cleaning!

I am so pumped! Finally I was able to log on to blogger! I have been trying for days. So this was the post I wanted to write yesterday!

It was nice and sunny out yesterday! The warmth always puts me in the mood for cleaning. I slept in WAY too late, and it ruined the start of my day. It was so hard to get going, but I decided I was going to overhaul our living room. We started a bit the other night by cleaning the computer desk and behind the couches. Yesterday I moved on to the book shelves and the coffee table. There was A LOT of sorting and cleaning to be done. I haven't quite finished, I still have to clean the TV stand and put some stuff in it's proper place, but it is so close to being finished!

After the living room is done, I plan to work my way back to the end of the trailer. I just want to get this whole place sorted through and organized. It will make everyday cleaning so much easier! Next is the kitchen, then the laundry room, and then the bathroom. The spare room would be next, but we already cleaned it last weekend! That is always the room I get stuck on, so I am glad it is already done! Then next it is our bedroom and then I am done the inside! I would also like to get the porch clean and organized. In my dreams I would like to have the inside cleaned by tomorrow, but I know in reality it will not happen. I want to do some more cleaning today, but it is Sunday and Eric doesn't like when I do housework on Sundays, especially when he is home!

Internet Fail

I would love to write a post right now, but my internet is not letting us load anything related to a gmail account, which includes my Blog! I am not sure when I will be able to do a decent post again from home. The internet has been like this for almost a week!

10 Years Ago Today....

...I asked a really handsome man out on MSN (how embarassing and impersonal! I was 15!) and he said YES! Pretty much the best jackpot I have ever hit. I could not be any more blessed to have Eric in my life! He has turned out to the husband I always dreamed of, and more! I love you Eric Reid!

Baby Names

Each time someone I know has a baby, I get a little nervous. Not because I am jealous they are pregnant, I have gotten over that. But because I am paranoid they will "steal" our baby names.

Naming is one of my favorite things to do. I always name all of my puppies, so I have done alot of searching. And each name is carefully picked out. For my dogs too. I am always keeping an eye out for a cool name on TV and in magazines, even at work! It usually takes me days if not weeks to pick out a name for my animals. Paris is from a magazine. Fleury is from a file I saw at a vet clinic in the city. Remy is from searching French names. Maeve and Finn were from searching Irish names. I wanted to name a cat Sevens far before I was ever looking for another cat.

I always try to pick names that I really like, and can see myself liking for a long time. I am also careful that I don't name them something I might want to use for a child one day. And so far, it has worked out. I still love all of my animals names! The only exception is Paris. I think I little girl named Paris would be so cute, but Eric doesn't agree.

Anyways, the point is that I have taken a lot of time (I mean, I have had 3.5 years of waiting to think about it) to pick out my baby names. Eric and I have pretty much decided what they will be, for first names anyways. We have no middle names picked out at all. I would be crushed if someone else used them before we get the chance to. I don't tell anyone them, not even family!

Growing up a Lindsey, with at least 3 other Lindseys in the same small town of 600(all spelled different of course), I know I want my children to have unique names. Not weird really, just unique. And to me, taking a regular name and spelling it weird is not unique. I also grew up with people spelling my name wrong all the time, mostly Lindsay. And I don't want my kids to have to deal with it as much as I did. I still think my spelling is the correct way, because people say Lind-SEE, not Lind-SAY. But that is besides the point. ;)

So because the names we have picked out are pretty unique, my hopes are that no one will use them before we do. But there is always that chance. And this nervousness will probably not go away until I finally get to use them! I pray that is soon.

Naturopath Appt. #2

Saturday I had my second naturopath appointment. This was for a physical exam and recheck. The first time it was more of a consultation, we mostly talked. This time she looked at my skin, nails and hair, checked my ears, checked my reflexes, checked my blood pressure and listened to my stomach. It was very different than a regular yearly physical. I could write lots of the things we talked about, but I was there for another hour, and you are probably not interested to read it all. Basically what she said is that lots of my "symptoms" are from PCOS, some are from and overgrowth of yeast, and some might be an adrenal issue which might be part of the PCOS.

This is my treatment schedule:

1. Multi Glyco vitamin/mineral supplement - 2 tablets twice a day
2. Vitamin C - 1 at breakfast, two at lunch. This is my favorite part. I have grape ones and they are so good. They are my candy! I wish I could have more than 3!
3. Greens Drink - 1 scoop mixed with water in the morning - This is weird, so I just chug it!
4. Protein powder - 2 scoops 1-2 times a day - I have chocolate rice protein powder, and I actually enjoy drinking it. I mixed it with some almond milk and water in the Magic Bullet for breakfast! I like it so much I crave it during the day. I had some for supper just because I like it!
5. Mag glycinate - I am taking 1 a day right now, but I have to talk to her to make sure that is right!
6.Candida SAP - 2 capsules 3 times a day with meals. - This is the yeast cleanse, I take it for at least 6 weeks.
7. Testo-Quench - 1 capsule 3 times a day - Because of PCOS, I have a higher testosterone level than normal, and as the name suggests, this is to help lower those levels.
8. Progesto-Mend - 1 capsule 2 times a day - To help the hormone progesterone work better for me.
9. Biotone EFA - 1 capsule twice a day, at breakfast and lunch - This is also to help with hormone balance.

As for diet, I am to remain on a low glycemic index diet, and I need to try to limit my fruit intake to 2 a day because of the sugar in them. I can have as much veggies as I want. I also include 4 Tbsp shelled hemp seeds and 2 Tbsp flax seeds into my diet. She would also like me to eat raspberries/blueberries and cranberry juice for the antioxidants.

So far, so good. Eric has been very supportive of this, so it has made it easy. Plus I have still been eating alot of stuff I enjoy. The hardest part is avoiding dairy! Especially when you go to other people places for meals. I feel like such a snob turning things down. I think I will have to make exceptions for some things. Dr. K did say that it should be a 90% low GI diet, and the other 10% can be high glycemic. For the most part I eat low GI foods, but that 10% gives me some breathing room when I go out or to peoples places for meals!

This is a lot of stuff, I know. And it is not cheap, but Dr. K was pretty optimistic that with all these supplements and dietary changes that my cycles will return on their own. I sure hope she is right. And if she is right, it will be all worth it! She has restored some of my hope that I will be able to conceive a baby naturally.

I do already feel better. Maybe you think I am nuts, or that it is just all in my head, but I don't mind! The only important part is that I feel better and healthier! I really feel like God lead me to go see Dr. K, and I know this is the path He wants me to take!

I go for a follow up April 26th!

A Nice Day

I was going to blog about my naturopath appointment today, but now it is late and I want to write lots, so it will have to be tomorrow!

Today was a good day! It was busy, but it was so nice outside. I went for a run/walk with the dogs. I ran for 20 minutes, then turned around and walked the rest of the way home. For the last minute of my run I ran almost as fast as I could! I love running like that, feeling the wind on my face & taking big strides. After that I did some TurboFire core and stretching for an hour. I also did my pushups from the 100 pushup challenge. I know, thats a lot of working out! But someday I don't get any in, and today I had the time!

New Mattress!

Today Eric and I went to the city to pick up our new mattress. Our old was was only 6 years old, but it was a very cheap one and was in terrible shape! First we dropped off a table and some other goods at the thrift shop so make room. We also picked up a few other things in the city for organizing our house. We got home around supper, and started cleaning the spare room. We took everything out of it, swept/vacuumed/mopped the floors, cleaning the walls. We moved our old bed into the spare room. Then we moved all the stuff back into the spare room, we still have to organize it better though. I can't wait to sleep on a new mattress!

I also had another naturopath appointment today! I think I will write more about it tomorrow!

My Goal

Today I was reminded of one of my goals. Or maybe I should call it a reward. When I am fit, I would like to buy a set of workout clothes from Lululemon. These are the pieces that I would like to get:

I can't decide between the long version or the cropped:

Love this jacket and the colour:

And this shirt/colour:

And just for fun a pair of shorts!

They are all running gear, I just like it the best! I might change my mind by the time I am ready to buy these items, or when I try them on. But I at least have something to motivate me some more!

Naturopath and Massage

Yesterday I had my appointment with the Naturopathic doctor. I thought it went really well, and I really like the naturopathic approach to health. I like how they look at all your symptoms and treat you as a whole person, not just specific symptoms. She talked to me for at least and hour and 15 minutes, and I felt like she really listened to me and what was going on.

She thinks that a lot of my anxiety/fatigue is due to my diet, and my blood sugar spiking up then crashing down. Because I have PCOS, this totally makes sense to me. She wants me to go on a low GI diet. I have read about this before, and how it is really good for people with PCOS. But I just haven't made the effort to do it. So yesterday I started. She also wants me to cut out dairy, because it can cause inflammation and that is not good when hormones are out of balance.

She also put me on some more vitamins, Multi Glyco, to help with the insulin resistance, and I am supposed to take 1500mg of Vitamin C instead of 500mg like the bottle reccomends. This is awesome because they are grape flavored and delicious, and the closest thing I will get to candy! She sent me home with a greens drink, which is kinda minty/veggie flavored. It doesn't taste the best but it is bearable. I am also supposed to eat 2-4tbsp of shelled hemp seeds/hemp hearts every day. This is also no problem because they are very yummy! All of that stuff I bought and have started. She also wanted me to have 1-2 scoops of a protien powder per day. This I haven't bought yet, because I don't want to waste money. Most protien powders I have tried make me gag. And the only one I have ever tried that I like has a full serving of whole milk in it, and I can't have dairy so that is not an option. I guess I will just have to try one and choke it down!

That is a long list of things to do. It is a bit overwhelming (well, mostly the diet part) but I really believe she can help me, so I want to follow her treatment plan. I love to idea of getting healthy without drugs. I want to give this my best shot! She also want to run a bunch of tests, but they cost money and are not covered by healthcare. There is two different tests she would like to run, but I think I am just going to go with one of them for now, because this is all so expensive already. I am going to have to sell lots of Partylite and bath items to afford this!

Today I finally had a massage. I say finally because this was the 3rd time I booked an appointment. The first time I booked one I had to book 3 weeks in advance. I showed up for the appointment to find out that I didn't have one, nor had I missed it or came a day early. They never booked me in. So she booked me another appointment and gave me a card and told me to come back next week with that card and I would have an appointment. I went back a week later, gave them the card, and they told me there was no massage therapist available and that my appointment should never have been booked for that time. They felt really bad, booked me an appointment for the next week and told me it would be complimentary. I cried half the way home. I was a bit nervous showing up today, but I did have an appointment and it was great!

Winter Walk With The Setters!

It was slightly warm today, so we decided to take the Irish Setters for a walk. We don't do a lot of exercise with them in the winter, so I am always glad for a warmer day when we can take them out! Finn has to go on a leash, because he completely ignores you when you tell him to come. Maeve gets to go free because she listens very well. I am nervous to have her running free on the roads, but we always call her back and hold on to her leash when cars or tractors come close.

Finn cleaning ice out of his toes mid-walk:Eric just barely caught Finn and ended up on the ground! Finn's leash slipped loose and he took off. Thankfully the leash was still dragging behind him so he didn't run that fast and Eric knocked him down. Lol:

Maeve coming back to inspect the damage:Finn wanted to go in the ditch so Eric let him, and ended up knee deep in snow:Eric and Maeve stuck in snow:
Loving their walk!:
Maeve coming back for her periodic treat!Having a blast running free!:
A boy and his dog:
Finn loves climbing the snow piles, Eric does too:Eric laughing at Maeve taking a big dump:
And yes, I am fully aware my husband has a mustache. He has been doing "Mustache March" way before "Movember" was ever around!
